|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Location:||USA-North Carolina|
| Elevation:||3840 ft / 1170 m|
Ascent Trip ReportGrassy Mountain is on the Eastern Continental Divide west of Little Switzerland. There are several homes on the summit ridge, served by a private road.
I hiked from the Blue Ridge Parkway, following a trail that's marked on the topo. Heading southbound, park on the shoulder at 334.5 where the road crests. Less than 100 yards to the south, an overgrown woods road approaches the parkway from the east (left side facing south). There is an unmarked but well-worn trail that follows this road through a patch of rhododendron. After 0.3 miles, reach the end of the summit road, turn right, and follow it to the top, where you will find a distinctive stone-and-glass house at the old tower site.
Round trip 1.0 miles.
