Ascent Trip ReportAfter messing up and spending 1:30 going up and down the wrong trail...Eric and I set off again. The trail was coated with rime ice and we were in dense fog. The horse trail was very run-able and we trotted upward. Hit the junction with the Devils hall trail in 17:13 then another 12:51 got us to the main trail (30:24). The icy stuff was pretty much over at that point as we got above the fog. 48:23 later and we were at the camp site (1:18). It was a bit windier after this especially on some of the more exposed ridge. It took us another 21:57 to reach the summit (1:40:46). We spent 6:08 on top getting some pictures. Then off for the run down! 20:06 to the camp, 43:18 to the horse trail, 11:38 to Devils hall trail, and 13:05 had us back down in a total of 3:15:02...counting the 6 minutes on top. This trail was great! Excellent for running although at this time of year we really could have used some katoolahs for the early icy stuff. |
