Ascent Trip Report

Woke up around 9am and smashed breakfast. Packed very lightly (water bottle, a Clif bar or two, and a summit suds beer). The ranger at Jenny Lake recommended (despite the lack of it in a Climber's Guide to the Tetons) shooting straight up north from Ramshead Lake (our campsite) and following the summit ridge to the top.

Bad idea.

It took way longer, and we had to summit 3 falsies and do sketchy downclimbs of all of them to get to the true summit. It was significantly more time consuming and energy exhausting than we were expecting, and we weren't familiar with the route and had to do super sketchy fifth class downclimbing and constant routefinding to get to the bottom. But we did! And we had a terrific dip in the magically beautiful Lake of the Crags afterward.
