Ascent Trip Report

Came up from quasi-ghost town Elkhorn to doublebag Crow and Elkhorn for a fantastic moderate day in the highest the Elkhorn Range has to offer

Snow on the ground, snowshoes were certainly necessary. The pass through the old mining area is interesting...abandoned vehicles and structures everywhere. Accidentally overshot the ridge up to Elkhorn Peak, so we added a bit of extra mileage. Incredible views onto frozen lakes.

Bushwacked our way down a bit but hit the trail right where we wanted.

My personal first snowshoe ascent, and an incredible day to do it. Beautiful weather but rather windy on the summits.

Hit up the hot springs on the way back; its well worth the stop!
