Ascent Trip ReportLost on one of the "bumps" a small brown napsack. Please email if found--it belongs to a friend. Followed the Sierra Club's directions. Started on the road and when the road makes a sharp left (east) turn, took Tom Sloan Trail on the right. We went staight, but the trail is really on the right (at least that's the way we returned). After switchbacking down, we reached Tom Sloan Saddle--a bit obscure, so look closely when the trail meets the saddle. There is a trail to the right and one to the left--take neither, but the trail straight ahead that starts up the mountain (unfortunately not Brown Mountain). When you reach the bump with the big stack of stones, look SE to several bumps--Brown is the highest in that series and about 1/2 mile from the stone monument. Register can leaked during the last rain and the register is wet. We put the register in a baggie; hopefully, it will dry out despite the protection.
