Ascent Trip Report

Birthday highpoint. Stayed in Port Allegheny for the weekend, and drove up Mill Street to the intersection with Stillwell Pond road. Left the Great Explorer in her SUV, and hiked down to the State Game Lands parking area. Note, at this time the gate was open, but it stated that it was only open to licensed hunters who had a handicapped sticker. It said that it would close again January 14th, 2014. I did see one other truck drive up the road. I hiked the road to the road crest, then did an easy bushwhack up to the highpoint. You will see a bunch of white and blue blazes that mark the border of the State Game Lands. There is one tree with all sorts of blazes, looks like a blue and white barber pole. The high point seemed like it was near here. I struck out to the east to make sure I covered the other highpoint.
