Ascent Trip Report***Sierra Club Outing***
led by Mat Kelliher, Jim Fleming, Bruce Craig
This was our 5th scheduled trip (the previous 4 had to be canceled due to road closures) over the past several years to Hildreth Peak. We followed HPS Route 2 out of Caliente Hot Springs on obvious trail up the very pretty Agua Caliente Canyon for about 3.4 miles and then began climbing NW on well marked use trail up a very steep ridge to an old jeep road that continued north along steep ridges to an east-west trending 4WD road, and then followed poorly marked use trail for a few hundred feet to the summit. One of our party got sick on the ascent and didn't get the peak.
