Ascent Trip Report

From the trail head, head alone the wide dirt road. In about 1/2 mile, look for a use trail on the left, which is clear at first, but becomes more faint. Head toward the base o the rocky canyon and look for a telephone pole on the right on the canyon. There are two trails--the one on the left becomes more obscure. We took it and ended up climbing the boulders to the peak. The use trail on the right is clear and is a dirt trail all the way to the peak with no boulders in the way. Follow that trail to the peak, which is the last bump in a series of about three. There is a cross on the summit; couldn't find the register. Great views of the Moreno Valley as well as Lake Perris. The duck hunters were busy shooting, which I found very disturbing. Hate the sound of gunfire and the killing of ducks and other wildlife. Not a challenging peak if you take the use trail up the canyon.
