Ascent Trip ReportDuring our visit to Acadia in 2009 we had climbed the "Bubbles" and I was excited to return in 2013. The ascent to South Bubble is a very easy climb in a wooded area. Much of the trail has been "developed" with stone or wooden stairs, increasing the ease. We visited the official "pile of rocks" summit marker and then followed a trail which we did not take during our previous summit in 2009. The trail led to an open clearing with beautiful 360 degree views of Jordan Pond and beyond. The weather was gorgeous and visibility was mostly clear with some haze. We sat for a while to take in the beauty and quiet before heading over to Balance Rock. At Balance Rock we walked around and took some pictures of Scott attempting to climb/ascend the rock and myself using the rock to assist in yoga poses. Following our visit to South Bubble Mountain we began our decsent and then took the trail to North Bubble which was just a short distance away.
