Ascent Trip ReportBryants Knob Road is partially hidden at the back of a truckers' pulloff where US21 crosses the Eastern Continental Divide (elev. 2972) south of the town of Roaring Gap.
The road is gated with a keypad. The gate was open when I arrived, and it is not posted, but I decided to not drive through it. Instead, I walked 0.4 miles along the gravel road and then bushwhacked a couple of hundred yards east to the wooded highest point. This comes close to someone's backyard and I heard dogs yapping but saw no one.
