Ascent Trip Report

I hiked North Pack Monadnock with a friend of mine with whom I hiked Mt. Osceola.

We took Ted's Trail to Carolyn's Trail. The former trail started out easy, crossing a brook on a bridge early on. We soon veered onto Carolyn's Trail, which started out by going through a thick, marshy area on wooden planks. We took a break on a trailside bench and then kept going.

The trail then increased in grade. I took frequent rest stops to let my friend catch up. Soon, we got to some ledges with great views, and then joined the Cliff Trail, which we took to the summit.

My friend and I sat behind the big rock square cairn for our food break. There was an older couple there whom we chatted with for a while. After that, we headed down, accidentally heading 100 vertical feet down the Cliff Trail. We then got back on Carolyn's Trail and made it back down to my truck.
