Ascent Trip ReportFull Trip Summary: For my 30th birthday I decided to hike Cannon Mountain with my father while the rest of the family took the gondola up. We started at Lafayette Campground and the plan was to get to summit and top of observation tower by 10:36am when I was born, and we made it with 10 minutes to spare! It was great to hit a milestone like turning 30 surrounded by the ones I love with amazing views of the mountains I love! My father and I then continued down the Kinsman trail over the Cannon Balls. We were going to try and bushwhack to Middle Cannon Ball but it was very dense and we couldn't locate the remnants of someone else attempting this, so we passed. Also bagged NE Kinsman on the way to the AT which took us back down to campground. We hiked by Lonesome Lake and the Lonesome Lake Hut. A very nice area that was very busy! Truly a great birthday! |
