Ascent Trip ReportLeft Socorro around 6 am and drove up the Langmuir road to trail #70 (near the top). Foggy and Breezy morning, set out along the well maintained trail for about 3/4 of the mile. From here there is a well established and obvious path up the North ridge of Timber Peak. After gaining a hundred and fifty feet or so on the fairly steep path, a short class 2 scramble leads to the summit.
Nice views of almost all of the Magdalenas and San Mateos. The prominent peaks around the Rio Grande rift (Socorro, Strawberry, Polvadera, Sierra Ladrones) would have been visible if it were't for the fog.
A nice short hike with the dog.
