Ascent Trip Report

Whack beside Hwy #117, in a beautiful mixed forest with huge pines ......1km roaming around in 40 minutes.

After overnighting at a Bouctouche CG, birthplace of JD Irving, we went north to Richibucto to get information on the Kent HPs, at the NB Natural Resources Office. The very friendly/cooperative Ranger, Leon Leblanc, gave us some additional information on the access roads however it will require some on-ground scouting ..... before doing so we decided to take-in this National Park HP.

From Hwy #11/exit 75, we drove east on #117 for 1km to the crest-of-the-road with a dirt road on the right, we parked. The Park Boundary parallels the Hwy to the north (left).

I entered the forest and roamed around for 40 minutes, nothing obvious in this beautiful/mixed forest with some huge pine trees (fairly open floor with some dead fall and a closed-in canopy).

After enjoying/satisfied with my whack I chose "my" spot just north of our parking spot at 30 yards .... a large/double-trunked pine tree, GPS 46.76603,65.02627, a good distance east of the PB coordinates. I added orange tape.
