Ascent Trip Report

We hit the trail at 830 to hike the Seward range and got to the peak of Donaldson at 12. The rain had just started and it got pretty windy and rainy on our trip to Emmons. We reached Emmons at 100 and was back on our way through Donaldson on the way to Seward. We reached Seward at 330 and took a break for the decent. The way down towards the Ward Brook Lean to was incredibly challenging. It was very slow-going, wet, steep and rocky. We finally reached Ward Brook at 630. It was full so we slept at Lean To 3 & 4, which had a stream right behind it, so it was a perfect spot. It was a 20 minute walk from the WB Lean to. We started on the Seymour trail at 7 am the next morning and reached the peak at 820 am. It was a steep, challenging, fun hike. After a 20 minute break, We started the decent and got back to the Ward Broom trail at 940. The hike from Ward Brook (which is about a 5 minute hike from the start of the Seymour trail) was mostly flat and took us 2 hours and 10 minutes. We were back at the Seward lot at 12. It was a tough 16 hours of hiking but was worth it.
