Ascent Trip Report

Wide-open views and easy access make this a popular place for family picnics, lovebirds, etc. There are actually two summits with views to the SE and SW. The one on the east is a little higher, but both are worth visiting. The trail forks at a bench near the top. Round trip about 0.7 miles with 180 feet of climbing.

The trailhead is at the Beacon Heights overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway just south of US221 at Grandfather Mountain.
