Ascent Trip Report

Repeat #2.
From Lake Ouzel Camp. Direct up and left of ice fall. Traverse SE to Moat crossing to rock. Left side wet ledge and loose cl4 -Oops, bad stuff, did easier route last time. Past rap slings to ridge. Less snow this year, even being a month and a half earlier.
Slower going, but more fun with a group of 6. Up cl3 ridge. Off ridge to south before east face cl5 pitch. CL5 short pitch on right of wall under summit. Avoid lighter rock on left. Is hollow and dangerous. Gained flat spot above the short pitch and scramble cl3 to summit. Party on the summit as crowds around summited Spickard and SE Spire Rapped CL5 pitch and immediate traverse NE to the ridge (better than crappy way up). Back to camp at Lake Ouzel for a short day. This year the area is crowded with over 8 groups! More ascents this weekend than in past several years.
