|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Location:||USA-North Carolina|
| Elevation:||3360 ft / 1024 m|
Ascent Trip ReportThere are two parking areas for Linville Falls, one managed by the Forest Service off NC181 and the Kistler Highway; the other run by the National Park Service and accessed off the Blue Ridge Parkway. I started at the latter, crossed the Linville River pedestrian bridge, and followed the trail, which is a gravel road for the first 0.4 miles and then a wide path up to the overlooks for Linville Falls. There is a rain shelter near the top. Erwin's View is a spectacular outcropping with steps and railings to make it accessible and safe.
Round trip 1.6 miles.
