Ascent Trip Report

Trisha and I climbed from about 100 vertical feet above the low 2WD trailhead. We started at 1:15 am MDT, reached Lake Como at about sunrise, and finally summitted just before noon. There were still fairly large fields of snow above timberline, which we climbed in crampons and glissaded down on the descent. A beautiful, sunny day with little wind. Only four other climbers on the mountain that we were aware of. We made the descent in 6 hours. A long, taxing day, but very satisfying. The moonlight hike in made it more pleasant than hiking that horrible road in daylight.
