Ascent Trip Report

After climbing Mt. Lafayette via the Greenleaf Tr, I traversed the classic Franconia Ridge Tr over Mt. Lincoln and Little Haystack to the rocky, pointed summit of Mt. Liberty (great view), 3.8 miles from Mt. Lafayette. By now, despite the likelihood of bad weather ahead, I was committed to completing my rigorous hike by continuing another 1.1 mile to Mt. Flume and then descending with great caution the steep, slippery Flume Slide Tr.(some Class 2+-3 included). From the TH I quickly hitched a ride back up to my car at the Greenleaf Tr TH near the Cannon Mountain Tramway.
