Ascent Trip ReportI used Dean's summitpost page for beta (http://www.summitpost.org/salt-creek-peak-ut/612060). He suggests walking the ridge road, but I found it to be in quite nice condition and the day was very hot so I drove it.
On Utah Hwy 132 between Nephi and Fountain Green (much closer to the latter) at virtual mile post 44.7 find a signed national forest access road heading west through some private ranches. There is a sign at the highway reading "Log Canyon/Moroni GS 11".
Follow the rough road up Log Canyon to the ridge top in about 7-1/2 miles. Turn right (west) onto the ridge top road and follow it just over 4 miles to a saddle, where it degrades to an ATV track. Fortunately, this saddle is as far as you wanted to drive it anyway!
Park, and hike directly (north) up the ridge to the summit bench mark and register.
