Ascent Trip Report

Lost: Two-way radio on the upper slope, most likely in the dense brush--Buckthorn or Manzanitas. It's cobalt blue--please email if found; thank you!

Took the faint use trail on the NW side of the mountain. The trail was easy to follow until about 3/4 of the way to the peak where it disappeared. The last 1/4 of the ascent is difficult with loose big rocks (test them before stepping on them), scree, dense Buckthorn, poison oak, and a few boulders to climb at the top. Saw a snake on the top, but not enough of it to identify. Didn't appear to be a rattler however. Eight of us on the hike; two made it to the summit; two made it 3/4 of the way and the other four looked at the ascent and decided not to attempt it.
