Ascent Trip ReportTook the Beaver Brooke Trail up to the summit of Moosilauke, it took approx. 3 hours.
On my way down I decided to bushwhack to the summit of Mount Blue. To my surprise, about 20 feet into the brush, I stumbled onto a old herding path which I followed to the top. At the summit of Mount Blue there is a Prego can tied to a tree with booklet and pencils in. I followed the herding path all the way back to Beaver Brooke Trail and realized I had mistaken it for a dry stream bed on my way up. So I marked it with a small cairn for future hikers.
On my way down I bagged Mount Jim just for the hell of it. It was approx. a third of a mile off of Beaver Brooke Trail, with very little elevation gain. I wouldn't even had know I was at the top if I didn't have my GPS with me.
