Ascent Trip Report

Excellent weather and team. Problems with sno-cat. Scheduled for 3am ride. Didn't start climbing until almost 5am. Maintained fast pace. Elected not to rope up when we got to Crater Rock. Cracks are widening and spreading where you climb onto the Hogsback. Solid bootpath to the base of the Old Chute and then plenty of steps going up the slope. Summitted around 8am. Six other volcanoes in sight. Probably close to 30 people on the top.

Descended to Crater Rock and retrieved our trekking poles. Caught several good glissade runs on the way back to the lodge. Slogging through the endless slop on the cat track was not fun. Back to parking lot by noon.

Great trip!
