Ascent Trip Report

From a dirt pullout off the 78, hiked down to Orosco Truck Trail and after ~3 miles headed right to stay on the road (it becomes Guejito Truck Trail if you keep going forward). After almost another mile, a use trail to the right led almost to the summit, where it was fairly easy to improvise a path the rest of the way. Xcountry'd down following the ridge southeast down into the creek & back to the road for 7 miles total. Lots of foxtail! They drop leftover fire retardant up here which has given the boulders a reddish color. This peak is not the highpoint of the ridge, as it goes over 2000 ft to the north, and the GNIS coordinates are for a 1795 ft point along Orosco TT. Interesting glimpse into Mesa Grande from between Black & Corral Mountain.
