Ascent Trip Report

Ended up being a 18km hike, since the road leading to the main trailhead was closed due to thawing. We had to start at another trailhead much further away. The climb was progressive and easy, we took the trails #6 & #8 on the way up and #1 in the way down. A lot of mud and exposed roots. Some snow near the summit, but nothing requiring crampons. The biggest difficulty, which was minor, was to get through a flooded area, because of a beaver dam. The view at the top was the nicest I've seen in Quebec, thanks to the observatory. We even saw Mount Washington! Mount Gosford is a great place for the first hike of the year, or for people with not too much experience.
