I would add the following to the driving information: From the north end of the pavement on NV Hwy 226 take the left fork, signed to Wilson Reservoir. Keep right at the major fork near the south end of the mountain and proceed to the unmapped (on the USGS topo) jeep road heading west in the northern part of Section 26, near BM 5910. Follow this to the base of the mountain and go right (south) to switchback up to the ridge (with 4WD and high clearance). Dean's report and my GPS track cover it from there. There is some brush on our hiking route.
We met a miner at the end of the maintained road, who indicated that this road was constructed (or spruced up) 2 or 3 years ago. |
