Ascent Trip ReportHiked from the Bonanza Trail side with Susan Murphy and Abby. The ridge out to the peak was much rougher than I anticipated. We had to skirt several of the cliff bands on account of Abby (and maybe me!). All work arounds were on west side with the exception of the final summit block, whose protective cliffs were easiest to pass on the east (though we climbed up on the west, we descended on the east). Though only 2 miles out along the ridge to Willow Peak, do not underestimate how long it will take in the rough terrain. Beautiful day and good conditions, with about a dozen stretches of snow on the upper parts of Bonanza Trail. Encountered a group of 3 wild horses on the Willow Ridge that actually approached us fairy close, and saw a lot of elk poop, but no elk.
