Ascent Trip Report

Day # 61
Back to the PO to mail out Julie's pants & maps. Called Limmer, Celine, NOC (ordered socks for a Front Royal delivery date of July 28).
Hitched to us501 TH, picked up by super-friendly South African journalist, Charles Smith, working in WA. Very interested in a thru hiker so he asked a lot of questions, took notes & photos. He later emailed them to Rose. He said he is fascinated by the culture of small town America.
Started w a 5 mile, 2300 foot climb to Little Rocky Row/Big Rocky Row at 10:00 hrs, not difficult. took a break on Bluff Mtn, good views on a beautiful clear day, short descent to the shelter.
Met up w Mike again + Eagle - a divorced South Bend, Texan, doing a yo-yo-yo!!!!, he's going nb for his 3rd lap !!!! Invited me stop in on my yearly trips to Mexico. Easy day, feeling good.
