Ascent Trip ReportTake Garvey Springs Trail from Old Mine Rd (orange blaze). This trail merges with Rockroes trail (white blaze with green dot), then continues up the mountain to the AT (white blaze). At the AT, turn right, then shortly thereafter, turn left onto the Turquoise trail. The turquoise trail follows the south side of sunfish pond; the area is well-trodden, so it may be tough to keep on the track. Take the Turquoise trail to the fire road. Turn left on the fire road and follow until you hit the reservoir. Turn right and travel up the road until you hit the fence, then follow the fenceline until you hit utility pole 52. You should see a boulder about 15 feet off the road--That's it. Total time (up and down) about 3.5 hours. Hopefully you will have as glorious a day as I did weather-wise! W
As you reach the top of Garvey Springs Trail, you will see some bald high ground to your right--by all means take a detour and climb to that point. The view of the Delaware Valley is breathtaking!
