Ascent Trip Report

Olympic Hot Springs road is closed to all use -no entry of any sort for the Lake Mills Dam removal. Book route of crossing and up Boulder Creek was out. And no lake anymore to boat across.
Start at end of Whiskey Bend road (1198'). Leave trail after Elwha suspension bridge. Log cross Long creek south (upstream) of waterfall. Ascend slope, then east ridge to summit. Snow started at 29-3000' as pitch flattens. Sunny and warm for winter. Snowshoes required lower and crampons on the final steeper ridge.
Fresh mountain lion tracks between party groups. One reportedly heard a growl.
