Ascent Trip Report"Residents Only" sign still posted at entrance to Loma Prieta Rd from Summit Rd. To shorten the hike, I drove past it and took Loma Prieta Rd 0.9 mi until it turns off to the right just after the intersection with Loma Chiquita Rd. This stretch of road is steep and a bit rough, and a few weeks prior I tried and failed to make it in a low profile sedan. However, this time the 4Runner had no issues.
Where Loma Prieta Rd turns sharply to the right just after Loma Chiquita Rd, there is plenty of space to park. From here, it's less than a mile hike on Loma Prieta Rd to the peak. As Kassan reported, there's a locked gate along the way and the true peak is fenced in. Once near the top, left the trail and circled the fence perimeter.
Several cars passed my parked car with no issues. Didn't see anyone during the hike.
