Ascent Trip ReportRosillo Peak is in Big Bend National Park. I hiked it from the west side. I drove out the road between Terlingua Ranch and Hwy 385 and parked along the road. My old topo shows a road heading west towards Goat Spring but this road has been gone for several decades.
It is easy hiking through the desert to the peak, but the way I went up is steep in spots and it is a roundabout way of getting there. I took a more direct route down that probably didn't save me any time. If I returned, I would go up the ridge between the 2 routes. Great views. |
