Ascent Trip Report

One must read Bill Jacobs TR of 2003 which still applies today, nothing has changed. This TR updates/adds a few details.

AREA 1 ON OLD BLEVINS ROAD ....... .5 miles RT.
A small sign on the garage door reads "Bostick Farm". The elderly lady who answered the door referred-me to, "My husband is out back, you may want to ask him."
I found Pat with a guy on a tractor and 3 friendly dogs. He didn't seem to be aware of the HP, and looked at me somewhat puzzled, "What are you going to do when you get there, piss on it?"
We both had a good laugh,
He suggested that he has room for 4-5 Wind Turbines on his property, "It would sure be a good source of income." he added.
I didn't tell him that I am against these monstracities ..... but I do understand his reasoning.
"Yes go ahead, park on the road and walk the fence line."
I stepped through the fence and walked west along the E-W fence line .25 miles to the obvious HP, between the 2 lone trees on the north side of the fence.

AREA 2 NORTH OF I35 .... .8 miles RT.
****Its noted that this Area needs to be visited after the harvest/winter.
We drove back to I35, exit 314 and traveled southwest (left) on the unsigned CR498 for 1 mile to a right on CR450 (also not signed), .75 miles north turned right on Franklin Road, .5 miles east arrived at a N-S grass track on the right (to the west is fallow tall grass and to the east is new sprouting grass field). This was my TH.
I walked the grass track south .3 miles to a somewhat height-of-land, then left (east) a few hundred yards to the not-too-obvious high ground (a large swell). I called it good.
No fences to deal with.
