Ascent Trip Report

Fun trip. Easy access for normal car up to the trailhead at the unlocked gate marked "wilderness boundary". Up the old road to the mine, then take the big gully heading Southeast to a saddle, then up a ridge going the same direction to the summit. Ducks are present on the route, but no real trail after the road ends. There was some easy scrambling without exposure, though I made it tougher by getting cute on the route up. My route down (see GPS track) was pretty much the easy, direct way, and all Class 2 (except the road, of course). Collin and I were moving very well on this outing, but waiting for other party members, so figure 1:50 up and 1:20 down was reasonable for us without that circumstance. Nice views from the summit.
