Ascent Trip Report

I have numbered the 3 Candidate High Point Areas a la PB and visited them in the order listed below.

AREA 1 .... 1.2 miles RT.
We approaches from the west, Itasca I35W exit 8, by driving east on FM66 for 2.9 miles to a sign on the right "Historical Marker 1 Mile", at the north end of a grass field. We parked here this was my TH.
I stepped through the fence and walked the edge of the field east 200 yards to its corner, then right (southeast) along the treed fence line for 300 yards where I crawled under the fence and continued 500 yards north to the high ground. Stomped, gridded the area, nothing obvious.

AREA 3 ..... .5 miles RT.
From area 1 we drove back west to I35W, then south to the first exit FM934 where we drove east for 3.2 miles to where FM934 bends left, we stayed straight (south) on CR4307 (gravel, with a number of bends) for 2 miles to the corner CR4307/CR4310.
We continued straight (south )on CR4310 for 200 yards to a gated farm entrance on the left. This was my TH.
I hopped the gate, walked the tall grass field east 200 yards to a fence line, turned left (north) for 200 yards to the obvious high ground, but-then-again not "the" HP.

AREA 2 ... .7 miles RT.
From corner 4307/4310 (above) we drove south .75 miles on 4310 to a left on CR4311, .3 miles parked at a Row of Trees on the left. This was my TH, the high ground is visible to the north at 400+ yards across open grass field.
I stepped through a broken fence and walked the left side of the fenced Row of Trees (northwest) 400 yards to another broken fence, then right (northeast) on a track 200 yards to the obvious high ground .... a 50 yard round area with no obvious spot.

"A PERSON IS LOST WHEN HE KNOWS HE'S HEADED IN THE WRONG DIRECTION ..... AND FAILS TO MAKE A U-TURN."
