Ascent Trip Report

The morning started out kinda rough for me - I went to start my car and got locked out of our cabin....I had to wake Laura up to let me in. It took an hour and 10min to get to the trail - but it was a very pleasant drive. The hike was lead by Phil. Me, John P, Monika, Beth, Jason K, Ray & Sue K. On the trail by 7:15am. Nice way up - along a river, some "earnest" climbs. Got to Lone first - then had to descend and climb up to Rocky. LOTS of balsam tree VERY close together near the top of Rocky - and we war not positive if it was even the peak when we got there - but John pointed out a canister so we were intact in the right place. I lost part of my pole somewhere, John got feet wet in a creek and tried to change his socks and shoes on the top of Rocky and he scratched his cornea otw down. I was not at the top of my game - felt cramps the whole time - bit we made it. It was very cold and everything was frozen (water, shoelaces, etc...). The was down was LONG - we had to keep crossing over rivers - seemed like forever! When all is said and done I am more than glad I bagged these Peaks!!! (even if I was too wiped out to hike the next day :)
