Ascent Trip ReportPast driving directions work, but may not be the best road.
I turned off Hwy 66 at the airport road and turned left on Shipping Lane. This turns into Bruce Road and then Topeka Road. At 3.0 miles from Hwy 66 I turned right onto Pate instead of continuing on Topeka. At 5.3 I turned left on Donald, reaching Jan Road at 6.3 miles. I turned right and followed existing directions from there - continue on Jan toward the mountains. Where it reaches a "T" at the end of Jan Road turn right on Hensz Way and follow it as far up as your vehicle will handle.
This route avoids many of the muddier and rougher patches on Topeka and Jan. From the end of the road, my GPS track shows my route.
