Ascent Trip ReportMy introduction to climbing started on this small NJ mountain. As a child I climbed this mountain many times with my father and family and even camped near the summit. When ever there was a crystal clear blue sky my father would say "today is a High Mountain Day". There are two main trails from North Halden side to the summit. The first is a fire road that winds around the mountain and the second is direct from the bottom of the fire road. There is a 360 view from the top which is excellent. Direct to the east and below is Patterson and then a view to NYC 20 miles away.
