Ascent Trip Report

Artski and I drove to a field intersection on 247th Street. We did not go further because of snowdrifts that could have given us some trouble. Either way, we got to enjoy a longer hike. There was 2" average on the ground, with shin deep snow in the eight irrigation rings that we crossed to make it to the top. It was an easy hike and interesting, giving way to a great view especially to the southwest. We were lucky to be in calm winds and upper 30 degree temperatures.

We received permission from a man on the Miles farm southwest of the highpoint. He said that there is supposedly a chief buried on the highpoint. Some small bumps from digging may back up his story of a group digging up the bones a few years ago, only to rebury them.
