Ascent Trip ReportThere were seven of us on this Las vegas Mountaineering Club outing lead by Joel Brewster.
We pretty much followed routes described by the DPS guide as well as by Dennis Poulin. We had no problem with the dry waterfalls - there were only a couple of short (10 feet or so) non vertical ones that were very easy class 3. I think there are more cairns that mark the bypasses than were described previously by others.
As has been unfortunately somewhat common on peaks I've climbed recently, the summit register had disappeared. Thankfully Eric Kassan brought a new one, and we all signed in.
Cool to cold and breezy, the views were seemingly endless- Spring Mtns and Charleston Peak to the East, Panamints and Telescope to the NW, Nopah to the SE, Avawatz to the S were all well visualized.
This was my 121st summit of a calif peak with at least 2000 ft of prominence, or 74 % of the list of 164 peaks
