Ascent Trip Report

A dirt road walk up of 500 yards RT.

Located at the very southwest corner of the County, just north of the Blair/Centre County Line.

From hwy 453, 1.1 miles east of the Blair/Clearfield County Line we drove generally north on Old Hoover Road for .56 miles and parked the van opposite the gated dirt road on the left.
I should note that Old Hoover Road is tough driving ... it has deep water bars every 15 yards. Also I believe this road is the access road for the Wind Turbine Installation to the north.

The gated road leads northwest 250 yards to the summit ...... crowned with "FAA Air Traffic Control Station", a white building with an antenna. The whole area is dense scrub oak, impossible to penetrate.
Tall Communication Towers can be seen less than half a mile to the southeast.

"ENJOY THE LITTLE THINGS ..... FOR ONE DAY YOU'LL LOOK BACK AND REALIZE THEY WERE THE BIG THINGS.
