Ascent Trip Report

I drove and checked out the suspect HPs in the area and most are typcial car HPing. Looking for one to actually hike a little, I will describe the one I became most impressed with for an opportunity to get my heart beating with some excercise by running up the power easement. I drove up to the corporate industrial center where the original HP was supposed to be but it is confusing there and a lot of security fencing.

After satisfying that I driven up driveways, or hopped around enough of the suspect places along US 29, Weldon Road, Meadow Chase HWY, etc, I parked my car at a physicians office by the recycle center and jogged down to the ravine at the bottom of the power easement (Persimmon Creek)and ran up the power easement. This open "trail" was enjoyably steep and I spooked up a group of deer to observe. I ran up the bank, up and over the cut in the entrance road to the termination of the power easement peak and up the entrance road and down without incident. Ran back to the car and off to work.
