Ascent Trip Report

We found our way to the east side of Berlin and intersection of hwy 160/SR2023, and drove east on SR2023 for 3 miles to a right turn on a dirt road (gated at 150 yards) just before the crest of the road.

I walked/climbed the dirt road south 400 yards (from SR2023) to the fenced-in Communication Tower before the ridge. PB locates the TRIPLE DIVIDE POINT on the slopes north of the Tower. I checked out the slopes, trying to identify the exact spot of the three-way watershed, without much luck. I called it good.

Being a Peakbagger I wanted to go the HP of the ridge, so I picked up a trail/track on the west side of the Tower and walked 250yards to a second Antenna-like Tower, in a large round open area.
Once there I could see higher ground further southwest inside the woods and once inside the woods I saw still higher ground further on, so I followed a track that follows the ridge (off and on), passed a cabin on the right, dropped slightly and ascended/bushwacked to highest ground on this ridge.
I must have gone southwest for .7 mile past the second tower before being satisfied and backtracking to the TH. This whole ridge walk would have been much easier if I add topo maps with me.
