Ascent Trip ReportStarted the bushwhack from the peak of Carrigain and then down to Carrigain Pond.It was generally very thick with pines and slow going. My footing was visible, and had spikes on just to be safe as there was a coating of snow(sometimes with ice underneath) most of the way. From the pond,it was pretty direct, but again very thick and slow going. It took me roughly 2 hours from the peak of Carrigain to whack the just over a mile.(about the same amount of time it took to ascend the 5 miles to Carrigain.) Descending was a little tricky in avoiding ledges, but occasionally gave way to a good view.Eventually made it to Livermore Rd. and back to parking where it looked like I had a pretty tough battle with the trees winning,by a wide margin. Still, a great day to be out there!
