Ascent Trip ReportTo do this you need to boat over to the key. Robby's Rental at the south end of the Islamorada Key rents sea kayaks that can take you the 30 minutes journey. We called all week but the high seas and rough winds up to 40 mph becuase of Hurrican Sandy thwarted our attempt to Kyayak over. Some words of caution. The Key is a national botanical preserve for the tree that the key is named after. Their are rangers living on the small key. They are open at 10 AM and 2 PM each day to "escort" tourist on the trails of the woodlands to learn about the key and protected trees. You do not want to tresspass this one. I do not know if the physical HP is along one of the trails. Will have to try some other visit to the keys but not during a passing hurricane!
Read Ben L report for more details of his experience on the island with the rangers!
