Ascent Trip ReportThe trailhead can be tough to find on this mountain. You park at the Blueberry Mountain Bible Camp. Go straight and cross over an athletic field. There are 3 skidder paths. Take the middle one. Go straight for about 100 yards and look for a trail with blue markers on the right. The trail starts out very steep. It is virtually relentless the whole way up. There are many false summits and ledges to get your hope up. The 2012 AMC guide has the distances totally wrong. It says that from the parking area to the trailhead that its .5 miles. I can't be more than .2 or .3. The caretaker said it was less than 2 miles to the top, which the book says it is. We took the wrong path and wound up almost knee deep in mud on a horrible skidder road. The book didn't say which path to take after the field. |
