Ascent Trip Report

***Sierra Club Outing***
E Provisional trip led by Matt Hengst, Evaluated by Tina Bowman

Day 2 of 3 day peakbaggin trip to Zion National Park. Spent the night in the picnic area of the Lava Point Campground. All of the sites were full at this campground, but Tina had managed to get one site, so we were able to all hang out the night prior to this hike.

Same initial approach as for South Guardian Angel, but rather than head down into The Subway we headed over to the northeast side of NGA and climbed up its steep flank to a saddle at 6,840', and from there we ascended directly up the northeast ridge to the summit. Rope was used on our ascent for one pitch; two pitches were rappeled.
