Ascent Trip Report

Easy hike to Headquarters Pass on maintained trail. But total hike time was around 9 hours. We took the Western route by heading over the pass and then hiking up to the saddle on the west side of the mountain. At this point it is pretty much a free for all getting to the top. Pick your own route through the scree and rock ledges. On the way down we went off the Eastern side and came down the scree field on the north east side. We ended up following the drainage with all of the caves in the rock walls along the ~eastern side, but I would not advise this if there is any water flowing as there would be quite a bit of bushwhacking. We were able to walk straight down the stream bed until the last quarter mile since it was completely dry. Make sure to cross to the west side of the stream before the waterfall (~30ft tall) on the way down or you will have to bushwhack for a ways further and you will end up below the trail.
