Ascent Trip ReportHiking with Asheville Meetup group. Parked on NC 215, then took MST to top of Devil's Courthouse. Continued on MST to Chestnut Bald. Bushwhacked up to summit of Chestnut Bald, which was marked with a small cairn and some survey ribbon. Continued on MST to jct with Black Balsam access road, walked up road to end and then picked up Sam's Knob Trail. Ascended Sam's Knob and summited both peaks. After descending Sam's knob turned west on Flat Laurel Creek trail and took this back to NC 215 and the car.
